Ferrous Sulphate Tablets

Ferrous sulphate tablets belongs to the group medicines that are used in the treatment of iron-deficiency anemia. Human body requires iron and this ferrous sulphate works as an iron supplement and help replace iron in body. Iron is needed by body to produce RBCs. When a body falls in deficiency of iron, it becomes unable to produce enough red blood cells as required to keep person in good and balanced health. This ferrous sulphate tablets is used to treat deficiency and help the human body become capable to produce required RBCs.

For the treatment of iron-deficiency anemia:	Iron deficiency anaemia is a condition that develops when your blood does not contain enough healthy red blood cells or haemoglobin. These cells are important for carrying oxygen around the body. This anemia can be identified by symptoms like tiredness, lethargy, dry nails, shortness of breath and lack of energy. It can be easily treated with supplements of iron and dietary changes.
Composition:	Each sugar coated tablet contains: dried ferrous sulphate BP 75 mg(equivalent to 22.5 mg elemental iron)
Indication:	For the treatment of iron-deficiency anemia
Contraindications:	Anemia not due to iron deficiency, where there is intolerance to iron, inability to absorb it or where ulcerative colitis, regional enteritis, colostomy, ileostomy or haemochromatosis are present.
Dosage & administration:	Usual paediatric dose is one tablet daily or as prescribed by the physician.
Precautions:	Iron salt should not be given to patients receiving repeated blood transfusion or to the patients with anemia produced by other than iron-deficiency unless iron-deficiency is present.
Adverse effects:	The oral administration of iron preparation sometimes produces gastro-intestinal irritation and abdominal pain with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipatio
Storage conditions:	Store in tightly closed container
Caution:	Foods, drugs, devices and cosmetics act prohibit dispensing without prescription
